James Lenox House Association provides housing to older adults in two residences on Manhattan’s Upper East Side: James Lenox House and Carnegie East House.
James Lenox House, located on East 73rd Street near Madison Avenue, is part of the Mitchell-Lama Housing Program and meets a growing need for reasonably priced independent housing with quality supportive services for those age 55 and older. The James Lenox House waiting list is currently closed, and we do not expect it to open soon. If your housing needs are immediate and you are not on our waiting list, we cannot offer you housing. We suggest you check with the NYC Affordable Housing Resource Center.
As not all older adults are able to live alone, Carnegie East House, located on Second Avenue near East 95th Street, offers enriched housing for older adults who require assistance with their activities of daily living. To learn more about Carnegie East House, please see their website at http://www.carnegieeast.org.
